Evolution of Combat
Runescape's new content update Evolution of Combat is now live. This is the second time we mention "combat" today. This is a trending concept in MMO games since the release of TERA which introduced a new way of combat in the world of MMO games. That being said, Runescape's Evolution of Combat adds distinct combat styles, damage and a whole new dept of Combat in the long-running MMORPG. Read on for the details of the update.

 

 

Evolution of Combat goes live for Runescape

Runescape fans are delighted today. They are, because the MMORPG's highly anticipated Evolution of Combat update has gone live earlier today. It's pretty obvious what the update brings to the table. Combat is evolving in Runescape. There will be distinct combat styles and loads of new content even for those who don't prefer to fight in the MMO.   

Players will first visit the Combat Academy for XP rewards and challenge the Lady Deathknell's in her various combat tests. These tests will be an incredible practice for players before they take on challenges like TzHaar quest - The Brink of Extinction; the Kalphite King; Wilderness Warbands and more. These quests will all be arriving in the future as the Evolution of Combat update makes the base for the developers to work on. Combat is going to continue to evolve according to Jagex developers.

Another use of the Combat Academy is about learning how damage types work now. The new combat system is going to require all players to adjust their styles. Even if you plan to stay old-school with auto-attacks and the Momentum ability, you still need to grasp the basics of damage types and the combat triangle as they were all modified with Evolution of Combat update.

Apart from the combat, there is the new Make X Production Interface that allows skilling for all types of players. There are minor improvements and additions as well.

All poisoned items have been converted to their unpoisoned versions. Permanently poisoned weapons no longer exist in the game. Poison is now applied on a temporary basis. Using weapon poison potions (including + and ++ variants) gives all weapon attacks a chance to apply poison on hit for a limited time.
Spellboxes earned as a reward from Dungeoneering have been removed, and their cost in Dungeoneering tokens refunded.
The Dungeoneering token cost of the Dungeoneering-specific prayers Augury and Rigour has been refunded, where purchased. These are now unlocked at the same time that the Piety prayer is unlocked.
PK skulls no longer exist as a game mechanic. Any existing from before the update have been removed.
Diseases are also no longer a part of the game. Again, any existing from before the update have been removed.
